30 years! Can you believe it? Shelton Drum and the crew of Heroes Aren't Hard To Find celebrated 30 years of Heroes Con this past weekend, a feat rarely seen these days, and luckily I've been able to experience 20 years with them.
I started my Heroes Con adventures in 1992 as a bright eyed teenager ready to take the comics world by storm.... oh, how little we know when we are young. I did get my first portfolio review there and it did sting quite a bit, but every year I went back more determined to make it and one day I did.
That's what makes Heroes a special show, not only to me, but because it's more of an artists show and a family show. For the fan inside us all the show has a little bit of everything from comics, to toys, statues, and cosplay has really grown there. Artist at the show are more than approachable and everyone seems to give a little more of themselves at Heroes, it's like a family reunion...with all the cool people you want in your family.
So next year take some time to visit, or re-visit Heroes Con, it's one of the highlights of my year and I do believe it will become one for you as well.
